Our Events Team
The events team in Pacer was created to give players aged 13-15 the opportunity to be a part of and even run events. Creating a more holistic development for the players not only to play Water Polo well but also lifelong skills such as planning ahead and how to work with others outside the pool. These events include the many JIC competitions this year where players became part of the ground crew to run the competition for overseas teams from Serbia, UK, Malaysia & our very own players.
Pacer has organised Corporate events for companies like OCBC, Decathlon & NUH as well as Educational events for Singapore Management University, St. Hilda & team bonding activities for many other schools. We have also organised birthday parties in private pools and events for churches.
Featured Events
Pacer frequently flies overseas for training & competition exposure for our players. An example would be in December 2016, Pacer's U13 and U16 teams travelled to Hong Kong for a 3 day trip. It was an opportunity for our boys to experience being a professional player they went for a run & did land exercises in the wee hours of the morning followed by training & games against local clubs in the afternoon & evening. Not only did the trip serve to improve the level of play with more training & game experience, it was also a platform for players to bond closer as a team & enjoy one another's company whilst sightseeing, shopping & even watching movies together.
Pacer Overseas Trips
Pacer holds many activities during the school holidays to allow our players to bond within their teams outside of the pool. Examples of activities would be travelling around the island to take part in various activities such as high elements, cycling through parks, taking part in friendly games & reviewing competition videos. During the 2017 P5 bonding camp, we visited Xcape Singapore and the Singapore Sports Museum followed by going rock climbing & enjoying a tower tour by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
Holiday Activities
Every year, Pacer organizes the Pacer Water Polo U15 Invitational Cup, inviting teams across the globe (from Serbia, The United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia, Phillipines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Etc.) to fly in & play over 3 to 4 days of competition. This year, after multiple intense games, VK Radnicki from Serbia emerged as the champions of the Pacer Water Polo Invitational 2018.
Major Competitions
Pacer has had a wide range of teams to spar against over the years. Just to mention a few, Pacer has played with Hwa Chong Institution, Singapore Management University, National University of Singapore, Singapore Polytechnic, and multiple overseas teams.
Friendly Matches
Pacer has attended, supported & ran countless events over the year. From the South East Asian Games to Corporate events to School events & even Birthday Parties. Examples would be when Active SG approached Pacer to run a Flippa Ball programme at Jurong west swimming complex as one of the many activities for the staff of National University Hospital to enjoy.
Singapore's National Day falls on the 9th of August where Pacer celebrated with a late night durian party for the older players as well as their parents. The players had a great time learning how to split open the king of fruits & spending time with their parents. The best part is to enjoy eating them.
To continue raising the standard of Water Polo in Pacer, we often invite overseas coaches to come to Singapore to coach our players & impart some knowledge. On 22 June 2016 Pacer invited the Greece National Men's Team Assistant Coach to pay us a visit. During the exchange, both our players learnt drills & skills to improve their gameplay while our coaches learnt skills to improve their coaching.
